The Coffee Bucket Ribbon Cutting

The Coffee Bucket, DRAW’s initiative to create jobs for first responders by running a local coffeeshop, was honored by the Waterford and Clarkston Chambers of Commerce, along with both the Waterford Township office and Oakland County Economic Department, at The Coffee Bucket Ribbon Cutting on January 25.

The house was packed with local supporters, business owners, and community leaders, as together, we celebrated the work that had already been done with DRAW through the Coffee Bucket.  In less than five months, our coffeeshop has sent 4 of its staff to serve after Hurricanes Michael and Florence, become a drop-off location for local donors willing to give supplies to those in need, and developed our new Green Initiative, which invites everyone in the community to recycle their plastic bags, in the hopes of reduce our environmental footprint.

Our whole staff was thrilled to see the outpouring of support at the morning event, with more than 75 attendees partaking of our morning beverages, then taking a tour of our warehouse/operations center, located on the opposite side of the building as the Coffee Bucket.

We’re very blessed to live in a community that embraces our mission to serve disaster victims, one cup of coffee at a time.
